Anti Wrinkle Treatment London
We know how devastating it can be to see the first signs of wrinkles on your skin. While wrinkles are a natural part of ageing, at The Wellington Clinic, we can create a personalised treatment to target your wrinkles and make them a thing of the past.
Whether you want to take preemptive action before wrinkles appear, or you want to remove deep-set lines on your face, we can help you turn back the clock and give your skin a new lease of life.
What are wrinkles?
Over our lifetimes, the biological processes that worked very efficiently when we were younger, slow down as we age. Many of these processes directly impact the skin.
Some of these processes include our skin’s ability to produce oil so the skin can remain hydrated, the skin’s ability to stay elastic and the ability to create collagen fibres which makes skin look plump and youthful.
When we’re young, skin can stretch itself out and snap back into place. This is because of the protein elastin in the skin, which keeps the skin supple and stretchy. However, as we age, elastin production slows down and skin becomes less stretchy.
Equally, collagen production will slow down too, which creates sunken and less plump skin. The creation of wrinkles is due to many of these processes slowing down all at once.
What are the common causes of wrinkles?
While the natural ageing process is often the common cause of wrinkles, there are many external factors that can speed up the process. External factors include smoking, sun damage, poor diet and dehydration.
Wrinkles will often begin to appear on parts of the body that are exposed to the sun most often and you might start to notice the appearance of wrinkles in the corners of your eyes, around your mouth and along your forehead.
How can wrinkles be treated?
There are so many different treatments that you can benefit from. In our personalised facial consultation, Dr Marjan Goodacre will be able to create a treatment plan that will really work to combat the appearance of wrinkles.
Our treatment approach will largely depend on how defined your wrinkles are. Maybe you’re just noticing the beginnings of fine lines around your eyes or perhaps you want to tackle deeper depressions and sagging of the skin.
If you want to prevent wrinkles or you’re just starting to see the beginnings of fine lines, you should consider preemptive wrinkle treatment.
Botox will help to relax the muscles responsible for the impressions and as a result, your skin will look a lot smoother. We would also recommend anti-wrinkle injections in our London clinic to ensure that your skin is looking healthier for longer.
Repressive wrinkle treatments are for those whose wrinkles are a little more developed than those trying to prevent wrinkles, but their wrinkles are still rather superficial. We’d recommend treatments such as topical chemical peels, iPRF and microneedling.
If you want to treat more severe wrinkling and ruching on the skin, you should look at our restorative treatments. By simply replumping areas of depression in the skin, we can see amazing results. For particularly deep wrinkles, we’d recommend dermal fillers.
With a facial consultation at our Chelsea dental clinic, we’ll discuss all the options available to you and which treatments are the best for your skin type and the issues that you want to resolve.
