Robert is a both a specialist orthodontist and a hospital consultant. He completed his dental training at University of Sheffield Dental School, graduating with the Dental Practitioners prize in Orthodontics and Paediatric Dentistry. Upon graduating, Robert took up positions in Oral & Maxillofacial surgery, Paediatric Dentistry and has worked in Australia as an associate dentist.
He undertook his initial three years of postgraduate specialist training in Orthodontics at the Charles Clifford Dental Hospital, Sheffield and Queens Medical Centre, Nottingham. Robert then went on to complete his higher consultant orthodontic training between Queens Victoria Hospital, East Grinstead and the Evelina Cleft Service, St Thomas’ Hospital, London.
Robert delivers the full spectrum of orthodontic treatment options including fixed and removable appliances, including the use of ceramic brackets and clear aligners.
Alongside his clinical work, Robert has lectured at national and international scientific meetings and conferences. He has been a speaker at the British Orthodontic Conference and co-chaired the main scientific session at the British Orthodontic Conference. His clinical interests include the social impact of orthodontic treatment and orthognathic surgery and orthodontic training and education.
He is an examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons England Dental membership examination and trains the next generation of specialist and consultant orthodontists in his role as a consultant.
Robert holds fellowship with both the Royal College of Surgeons of England and Edinburgh. He is a member of the British Orthodontic Society and is a past Chairman and Secretary of its Training Grades Group.
Away from work, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends, travelling to new places and playing sport.
