The Wellington Clinic is London’s top destination for microneedling in Chelsea. Get dermaroller treatment at an award-winning, professional, modern clinic on the Kings Road in London.

Dermaroller/eDS is used to improve the appearance of facial and décolleté lines and wrinkles, sun-damaged and ageing skin, acne scars and stretch marks.

Advanced micro-needling stimulates the skin to regenerate and repair itself naturally and safely. The regeneration process that has been initiated creates smoother, brighter, healthier, younger-looking skin.

How Dermaroller Works

Dermaroller is also known as collagen induction therapy (CIT). The dermaroller treatment technique involves creating microscopic channels through the skin, which in turn activate the body’s natural healing cycle. This activation causes the formation of collagen in the skin.

The skin contains 75% collagen. The collagen provides support for skin and is responsible for the smooth, plump, healthy-looking skin that exists at a young age.

As the skin ages, the amount of collagen decreases, and so the support for our skin diminishes, resulting in thin, unsupported, wrinkled skin.

Is microneedling safe?

The treatment might sound scary, but it is very safe when handled by a professional. Our microneedling Chelsea clinic offers a safe and secure environment for your microneedling treatment.

For safe and professional microneedling in Chelsea, book your appointment at The Wellington Clinic today. We offer skilled aestheticians who are trained in this specialist and minimally invasive procedure.

After your dermaroller facial treatment, you might have some minor redness and irritation on your skin for a few days. This should subside and should not be too uncomfortable.

What results can I expect after dermaroller?

Dermaroller treatment stimulates collagen production, which in turn produces healthier, younger-looking skin.

This type of microneedling treatment is also non-ablative, meaning that the deeper parts of the skin are treated without damaging the top layer of the skin, which happens with laser procedures.

Dermaroller for acne scars

In the case of acne scars, stretch marks or other scars, the initiation of the body’s healing cycle helps the scar tissue to be broken down and the formation of new collagen to improve the skin.

Dermaroller acne scar treatment can be very successful for diminishing scars and smoothing the skin. Before treatment, we will assess your skin to determine the type of scarring.

Deep acne scars are treated in a different way from shallow acne scars. We will help you to determine the best treatment choice for your skin concerns.

The Difference Between Dermaroller & eDS

Dermaroller is a rolling device. This means the needles do not penetrate and exit the skin vertically, and as a result, a wedge shape is made on the skin surface.

The needles on an Electric Dermastamp (eDS) move vertically, and as a result, ideal sized micro-channels are created. This allows for Collagen Induction without unnecessarily damaging the epidermis (the uppermost layer of the skin).

eDS is ideal for the face where precision of the micro-needling treatment is of the utmost importance to provide optimum results with minimal trauma. eDS also allows for the needle length to be altered easily for different parts of the face.

This is important as the needles need to penetrate different depths on the different areas of the face for optimum results.

The dermaroller procedure

Topical anaesthetic cream is applied to the area to be treated, and it is left on the skin for 30 min to work. Once the area is numb, the eDS tip is gently passed over the skin while the microfine needles penetrate very smoothly and quickly to the correct skin depth.

A skin rejuvenation treatment solution is applied to the face to allow the eDS tip to glide smoothly over the skin and add extra benefits to the skin.

Our dermaroller solutions

The solutions used are Hyaluronic Acid solution to provide intensive hydration or CIT Mesotherapy solution. In addition to hyaluronic acid, the CIT Mesotherapy solution contains:

  • Vitamin A for skin regeneration
  • Vitamin C and E for antioxidant protection
  • Niacinamide for skin brightening
  • Peptides and amino acids for skin cell stimulation
  • Additional skin-enhancing ingredients

Once the entire area is treated, a calming lotion is applied to the skin to soothe the skin, and a mask is then applied to intensively hydrate and soothe the skin. The mask contains:

  • Vitamin E
  • Retinol palmitate
  • Hyaluronic acid
  • Ceramide amytriptil.

Sun protection is then applied and given for you to continue using for two weeks after treatment.

What happens after dermaroller treatment?

During the six weeks following microneedling treatment, the skin’s natural regeneration occurs, and new collagen and skin cells are formed. The skins blood supply is enhanced, bringing more nutrients, hydration and oxygen to the skin.

How long does dermaroller treatment last?

The process allows a natural and long-lasting enhancement and regeneration. Three procedures are typically recommended, with approximately six weeks between them.

Once you’ve completed your treatment, you can expect the results to last around six to eight months. After this time, you can arrange regular top-up treatments for microneedling in Chelsea.

We are a private clinic in London offering botox, dermal fillers, profhilo, PRP / iPRF , dermaroller microneedling, Juverderm and topical skin treatments. Make an appointment with Dr Marjan Goodacre for a full face and skin assessment and consultation.
