What is Ameela?
Ameela is a Polynucleotide treatment, one of the most advanced developments in aesthetic skin care. Polynucleotides work by attracting stem cells to the treated area and triggering a natural regeneration process within the skin's own tissue. Nucleotides, the building blocks of DNA, are fundamental to the body's cell repair and regeneration mechanisms, and Polynucleotide treatments harness this biology to produce genuine, lasting improvements to the skin.

Is Ameela a dermal filler, a skin booster or a biostimulator?
Ameela is none of the above in the conventional sense — it is a biostimulator and a regenerator, which sets it apart from most other injectable aesthetic treatments.
Unlike dermal fillers, Ameela does not add volume or physically alter the shape of an area. And unlike hyaluronic acid skin boosters such as Profhilo, Ameela does not contain hyaluronic acid at all. Instead, it contains fragments of DNA known as nucleotides, which both hydrate the skin and actively initiate the regeneration of facial tissues. Drawing on the same mechanisms the body uses to repair DNA and heal cells, Polynucleotides deliver results that are genuinely structural — not just cosmetic.

How does Ameela work?
Once injected, Ameela's Polynucleotides bind to receptors within the skin and surrounding tissues, triggering a cascade of stimulation and regeneration at a cellular level. The product is fully absorbed over approximately 14 days, at which point a second session is recommended. This maintains the regenerative stimulus for around one month — sufficient time for the skin's renewal process to take full effect. Results then typically last for 6–8 months.

The Ameela Procedure
Your Ameela treatment at The Wellington Clinic Reigate begins with a thorough skin assessment and consultation with Dr Marjan Goodacre, during which treatment areas are identified and a personalised plan is agreed.
On the day of treatment, the skin is carefully cleansed and disinfected before the Polynucleotide injections are administered. Depending on the areas being treated and the specific concerns being addressed, the product may be delivered by either cannula or needle.
Visible improvements can often be seen after a single session. However, to achieve results that last 6–8 months, a second treatment at the two-week mark is strongly recommended.
